I was able to install a new nut inside the case by cutting one of the plastic guard lines just outside that area. ( They keep the krud out).
The I secured the nut by holding it & screwing in the handle bolt. The reattached it to the handle.
This was a 15 minute job ONCE I decied to cut one of the krud guards. It was either that OR remove the carburator so I could remove the case (OR just cut the case below the carburator).
