Poulan Pro 42" 18.5 HP Hydro lawn tractor

After storage for the winter, I did a trickle charge and started the mower. However, the blades are not engaging. I ck'd the belt, it seems loose even with the blades engaged (engine off). What tension does it need? (I am NOT mechanically inclined)
