Product Tip: Sensitive Blade Safety switch

I discovered that the blade engage lever must press down a button underneath when in off position to allow mower to start, switch to reverse gear. Lever has a bit of wiggle room in it and it can be in off position but not properly "mashing down" the blade off safety switch. Have not tried to bypass this...anyone ideas?

If you find yourself engaging the mower blades and all of a sudden the lever has no resistance or it suddenly disengages...your deck cable has broken. Happened twice in three years of moderate use. Safety switches require disengage blades each time to reverse...wonder if others have this problem?

the rod thats goes to break lever has 2 nuts on it loosen the two nuts and bring the nuts towards the rear so the rod pushes the break lever more when you step on the breakif that doesn't work you might need new brake pads which are right on the transaxle these are not hard to replace remove tire unbolt break caliperone pad is right thereinside the caliper and the otheris behind the diskbreak there will be a piece of metal to push the padsbe sure not to lose it

I got a sears murray riding mower for free. I had the same issue and found the drive belt from the engine to the transmission was broken. It cost me $8 dollars to repair it. Not bad for FREE.

need some help on this model. Previous owner had electrical problems and there is evidence of rewiring. Battery discharge light is on, and as soon as you engage electric clutch, it pretty much kills the battery in a few minutes and then stops. Seems like it's not running off the magneto or alternator.?? Need photos of what the wiring is supposed to look like.

i have rzt series zero turn cub cadet mower. when i try to engage blades and move forward, i do not have anypower???i think the switch under seat is messed up, there are two terminals but only one wire on it??? not sure whers other connects to?? can you help me out??thanks

My 9 yr old Scotts S1742 mower was working fine for me until yesterday. I was mowing the lawn & left it running for a few minutes while I jumped off to tend to something else. She suddenly conked out & now all I get is a slight dull sound (not even a clicking sound) when I turn the ignition. After I tried to start a few times I checked the battery terminals & the negative terminal was rather hot. Any suggestions?

i have a jdm f510 w/38 front mount deck i was mowing grass and the motor just quit i noticed a flame under the engine also had a flame coming out the exhaust replaced the brain still will not start i think the spark is weak i have plenty of fuel seems like pretty good compression could it be the coil? please let me know thank you

my lawn mower hitted a big rock and my blade got twisted. After that it doesn't start, thogh I change the blade for a new one. Sears told me that I have to change a small part (by the way, I don't know to say it in english, but in PR we call it "cuña"). I was trying to figure out were exactly goes. If you can help me with any engine diagram I'll appreciate a lot. See Product picture below, I took a shoot of it.

Replace the aluminum key stock in the flywheel. When u hit something with the blade it'll sheer this piece. Take the sheetmetal off the top, remove the nut holding flywheel on, look down between flywheel/crankshaft, and you'll c a real small vertical slot in these 2 pieces. Key stock fits in there. Pop flywheel off however u can, remove the sheered key, replace flywheel, insert new key stock, reverse the removal of everything, then start it up.

feels like it wants die when running. idles fast then slow. exhaust pops like its try to back fire. just put new plug, changed oil, new gas line, new inline gas filter, cleaned carburator w/ cleaner. the owners manual that came w/mower does not tell you how to idle or adjust gas richness. please send me info on this problem.

My husband is in Iraq. I was about in tears when the belt came off of our 61 inch cut, triple blade Ferris. Thanks for not making me pay for the manual. Now I just have to convice myself that I can do this!

after a 1/2 hour the stearing quits, let it set and it comes back.Then it starts all over again. Talked to the dealer and he thought it was air,, what ever he did didn't help.. Any Ideas???

On the right hand side near the gas tank check the ground wires under the hood. if they are loose just use electrical tape to tie them togather. this was my prob after i did that my lawn power works fine. i have to jump it once in awhile but its all good.

I'm changing oil in my mower. How much fresh oil should be added to fill, without over-filling? (Briggs Quantum 5 hp). Also, what should the spark plug gap be set at? Thanks for your time.
